About Kristina
Kristina is a warm and empathic psychologist, and she is passionate about supporting her clients in improving their mental health and wellbeing. Kristina holds a Bachelor of Psychology from Macquarie University and an Advanced Diploma in Psychology from Monash University.
Kristina operates in a neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed framework and creates a safe and supportive environment for her clients, helping them build strengths and coping skills. She has a particular interest in neurodiversity, early development, developmental disorders and anxiety.
Kristina began her career within an Non-profit organisation, where she provided assessment and support for children with learning difficulties and nuerodiversity, such as ADHD, Autism, Learning difficulties. Kristina then spent time working in the department of education in primary schools, high schools and selective schools across Sydney. She provided assessment and counselling for children K-12 and worked in the Early Intervention program providing support for families and children with diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, learning difficulty and speech delay.
When she is not with her clients Kristina engages in regular mindfulness practice and enjoys gardening, reading and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She also loves spending time with her friends, family and her Australian Cattle Dog.
Types of Clients: Children 5+yrs, adolescents and young adults.
Types of Presentation: Social anxiety, separation anxiety, specific phobia, generalized anxiety, ADHD, Autism, adjustment disorder, stress and emotional regulation difficulties.
Therapeutic Modalities: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
Assessments: Well versed in providing Assessment and Treatment of Children, Adolescents and Adults with stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, ADHD, Autism
Diagnostic Assessment: Developmental Assessments and psychometric testing (WISC, WIAT) and for Child ADHD, Specific Learning Difficulties (reading, writing, maths) at Breakthrough Psychology Practice.
