Theresa is a provisional psychologist currently in the process of completing her Master of Clinical Psychology at Western Sydney University. Theresa is a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental psychologist who works with her clients to help them feel safe, comfortable and understood. She values building a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients to support them in achieving their personal goals. She is committed to working with children, adolescents and adults to overcome personal challenges and difficulties.

Theresa has had extensive experience working in a university clinic with clients of all ages to treat and manage concerns regarding mood and anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation, depression and stress. She uses her years of study and experience to provide a warm and compassionate space for understanding and growth. She has also worked in a community outpatient mental health service for adolescents and young people, with a focus on clients experiencing suicidal ideation and self-harm. She has experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, work and study stress, adjustment difficulties, relationship issues, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Theresa is particularly passionate about working with adolescents and adults to better understand themselves and to advocate for their wellbeing. She integrates approaches from a range of evidence-based therapeutic styles to help clients to understand their experiences, overcome challenges, and learn skills to improve their quality of life.

 

Theresa plays an integral role as a part of the cognitive testing clinic team at Breakthrough Psychology Practice alongside the other Psychologists and Director. She conducts psychometric testing for Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

 

Theresa is committed to engaging in continued professional learning and development. Theresa is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society and a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association. She has also completed training in the Cool Kids Program and the Zones of Regulation Program.

 

In her spare time, Theresa enjoys testing out new recipes and cuisines in the kitchen, taking care of her home jungle or exploring the many bushwalking tracks across Sydney. Theresa believes in the soothing nature of being immersed in the present moment and finding joy in every day activities, which she endeavours to practice in her own life.

Theresa is available Monday, Thursday and Friday between 10am-6pm.
