Ishan Narendran

Ishan is a dedicated and compassionate psychologist committed to guiding individuals on their path to mental well-being and personal growth. With a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours in Psychology) from the University of Sydney, Ishan brings a solid foundation of knowledge and a passion for understanding the intricacies of the human mind.

 

One of Ishan’s defining qualities is his warm and caring personality. Ishan approaches his clients with genuine compassion and a non-judgmental attitude, creating a safe space for them to explore their thoughts and emotions. His ability to empathise and connect on a personal level fosters a therapeutic relationship built on trust and understanding.

Ishan works closely with the Director in conducting Developmental Assessments and executing psychometric testing and intakes for Child ADHD, SLD and Autism at Breakthrough Psychology Practice. He is well versed in providing Assessment and Treatment of Adolescents and Adults with stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, trauma and worker's compensation clients. Ishan utilises a wide orinetation of work, including utilising ACT, CBT, Mindfulness and Narrative therapy.

Ishan specialises in psychological testing, with a keen interest and expertise in assessing conditions such as ADHD, Autism, and Specific Learning Disorders. His proficiency in conducting thorough assessments enables him to contribute to accurate diagnoses and tailored intervention plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for his clients.


Ishan's therapeutic approach is anchored in evidence-based practices, primarily focusing on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). By combining these modalities, he empowers clients to navigate their thoughts and emotions, fostering resilience and facilitating positive change in their lives.


Additionally, Ishan has a specialised focus on addressing mental health concerns related to workplace injuries. With two years of valuable experience in the occupational field prior to entering private practice, Ishan has honed his skills in addressing the unique challenges individuals face in workplace settings. Through a holistic approach, he collaborates with individuals to enhance their psychological well-being, aiding in the recovery process and promoting a healthier work environment.


Beyond the office, Ishan enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. His love for football serves as a dynamic outlet, keeping him physically active and mentally rejuvenated. Ishan also finds solace in the therapeutic power of music, appreciating its ability to inspire, uplift, and connect individuals.


Ishan is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists incorporated (AAPi). 


Ishan is available every Thursday between 10am-6pm.
